Business Development Intern
Learn how technical services are actually sold — research, outreach, and sitting in on real scoping conversations.
- Experience
- Fresher — no prior experience required
- Engagement
- Internship
- Location
- Remote, India
About the role
This is a genuine first role, not a lead-scraping job with a title. You would learn how a software engagement gets from a first conversation to a signed statement of work, which means understanding enough about what we build to hold a credible conversation. We would rather teach you the domain than hand you a script.
What you would do
- Research prospective clients and understand what they actually build before anyone contacts them
- Draft outreach that references something real about the company, not a mail-merge template
- Keep the pipeline accurate — an honest CRM is more useful than an optimistic one
- Sit in on scoping and discovery calls, take the notes, and write up what was agreed
- Help prepare proposals and capability material
- Learn enough about our services to know which questions to escalate rather than guess at
What we need from you
- A recent graduate, or in a final year, in any discipline — we do not require a technical degree
- Writing that is clear and free of filler; you will be judged on your emails
- Genuine curiosity about how software gets built and bought
- Comfort being told when something is wrong, and the initiative to fix it
Useful, not required
- Any prior exposure to B2B sales, agency work, or client-facing roles
- Familiarity with a CRM
- A second language useful in the UK or UAE markets
How hiring runs
Four steps, and a decision within a week.
Application
Send your CV and anything you have built. For engineering roles a repository or shipped product tells us more than a covering letter.
Intro conversation
Thirty minutes on what you want to work on and what we actually do. Ask us hard questions here — we would rather you did.
Technical conversation
A discussion of real problems, not a whiteboard puzzle. For engineering roles we will look at code you have written, or work through a small realistic problem together.
Decision
A clear yes or no with the reasoning, within a week. If it is a no, we will tell you why.
We have not published salary bands. Rather than print a range we would have to caveat, we will tell you the band for the role in the first conversation, before you invest time in a process. Compensation is set on the role and your experience, not on what you were paid previously.
Apply
Send us your work, not a covering letter.
Email career@laxorasoftware.com with “Business Development Intern” in the subject line. A repository, a shipped product, or anything you can walk us through tells us far more than a paragraph about your strengths.
