About the role
Most of our work is custom platforms and SaaS products where the interesting problems sit at the seams — how the data is modelled, how the API behaves when something fails, and whether the interface makes the underlying complexity feel simple. You would own features across all of that rather than being handed a ticket for one layer.
What you would do
- Build features end to end: schema, API, interface, and the tests that keep them honest
- Model data deliberately — including the states nobody mentions in the requirements workshop
- Design API error behaviour explicitly rather than letting exceptions leak into the interface
- Meet the performance budget agreed with the client; Core Web Vitals are acceptance criteria here, not a post-launch clean-up
- Build accessible interfaces — semantics, focus management, and keyboard paths as you go, not retrofitted
- Take part in sprint demos and explain your work to the client directly
What we need from you
- 2–6 years building web applications that went to production
- Strong TypeScript, plus React and a Node backend framework
- Relational data modelling and the judgement to know when a query is the problem
- Familiarity with testing as a working practice, not a box to tick after the fact
- Comfort working against a documented definition of done
Useful, not required
- Next.js App Router experience
- Exposure to multi-tenant or subscription-billing systems
- An eye for interface detail — you notice when spacing is inconsistent

We have not published salary bands. Rather than print a range we would have to caveat, we will tell you the band for the role in the first conversation, before you invest time in a process. Compensation is set on the role and your experience, not on what you were paid previously.
